At Cafe Chairs Sydney we take the utmost care to select commercial furniture which looks good and is practical while paying particular attention to the details and processes which define quality. Our furniture collection is constantly evolving to make it suitable for a wide variety of public and domestic spaces.
Regular inspections of your furniture will help to ensure its longevity and durability. We recommend that you get into the habit of inspecting your furniture on a regular basis, paying particular attention to points of stress such as swivels, welds and joints, as well as checking for missing screws, bolts or glides. Clean and tighten screws and bolts, greasing parts if necessary. Should you need any parts for repair purposes, then only use original replacement parts and attach them in the same manner.
Should any item show signs of fatigue, then you must notify us, and take the item out of service right away. Continuing to use this product will be at the buyer’s risk and will make the warranty invalid.
Timber Care Policy
Timber is a nice way to bring a natural look to your cafe or restaurant, however it needs to be maintained and placed in the correct environment so that you can enjoy it for many years. The following tips will help you get the most out of your new timber furniture.
i) Timber needs to be cleaned regularly especially when it is regularly exposed to food and beverages. Chemicals can have a damaging effect on timber, breaking down varnish and penetrating the timber surface. So it is recommended that you use only a damp cloth to wipe down timber, without chemicals and excessive amounts of water.
ii) UV radiation will bleach timber so long periods in sunlight should be avoided, this includes furniture being place indoors under a window. The glass from the window will act as a magnifying glass and speed up the process.
iii) Heat is not a friend of timber and can cause it to crack and split, you should always use coasters and placemats to protect your timber table tops. The heat transfer can split the timber especially on timber veneer and should be repaired immediately or the split will increase in size over time.
iv) Soft timbers are more comfortable when used in the manufacture of chairs, however they dent easily if bumped or knocked. You should avoid frequently moving or stacking these chairs if you want to avoid them looking heavily worn over time.
v) Timber needs to be regularly revarnished with marine grade varnish if you want your timber to retain its new look over time. It depends on the amount of traffic the furniture receives as to how often this should occur.
vi) Repairs to timber should be carried out immediately should timber become scratched, chipped or split. Leaving the timber exposed will allow it to deteriorate quickly if it is not repaired and you may end up in a situation where it can not be repaired.
vii) Changes in temperature and humidity can damage your timber, if you live in a cold climate at night and use heaters during the day this can cause your timber to split or warp. If this is unavoidable then timber should be kept as far from the heater as posable and coated with a marine grade varnish and regularly maintained.
Timber will bring a warm natural feel to your premises however it does take a lot of care and maintenance to continue looking good over time. Should you not have time or the experience to do this then perhaps you should choose one of our timber look products. Then you will get the look of timber without the need for the maintenance.
Because of the different environments timber can be stored in and the need for such care none of our timber products are covered by a warranty and it is up to the customer to ensure they receive their timber in good condition and then maintain and care for their timber.
All of our products are sold with a 12-month warranty with the following exceptions:
- The Specta Chairs and Air Chairs /Air Stools (65cm & 75cm) are supplied with a 3-year warranty against faults arising from defective workmanship.
- All Isotop table tops are supplied with a 2-year warranty.
- The warranty does not include upholstery regardless of whether it is supplied by us or is the customer’s own material. However, please be aware that many upholstery mills provide their own warranties.
While Isotop table tops are weather resistant, they are not made to always be left outside. Being in the weather all the time weakens the top and can cause the corners and edges to split and/or crack. Leaving your tables outside all the time will void your warranty.
Isotops are a laminated surface and as such using ammonia or chlorine based cleaners can have a bleaching effect on the table tops. Please only use warm water and microfibre cloth when cleaning table tops, damage caused by the use of chemicals on table tops is not covered under warranty.
i) The warranty does not apply to any product which has been repaired or altered in any way, which we consider affects its durability and safety. Neither does the warranty apply to any product which has been misused, neglected, or abused. In addition, the warranty will not apply to products which have been damaged through incorrect cleaning methods or have come into contact with abrasive or acidic cleaning agents.
ii) In accordance with Queensland Consumer law, we reserve the option to ‘remedy’ any item which is considered defective, this may be in the form of repairing or replacing the item. There will be no charge for this service provided it is returned pre-paid as stated in our terms of business.
iii) At no time will any liability under the terms of the warranty be greater than the value of the defective product. We reserve the right to call upon factory personnel to inspect the product on our premises to determine the cause of the alleged defect.
iv) Please note that table tops (including Isotop) are not designed to be stacked for storage purposes on top of each other or upside down since this can lead to damage including scratching and pattern erosion. Any tables thought to have been stored this way will lead to the table top warranty being declared void.
v) Universal screws are provided with some table bases as a matter of courtesy. Therefore, it is extremely important to take care if you choose to use these screws to attach the base to your table top. Since tops vary in thickness should the screws go right through the table top, any damage will not be covered by the warranty.
vi) Unless we have given approval in writing prior to repair we will not reimburse the costs of any field repairs that have been carried out by non-certified or pre-approved technicians.
vii) We reserve the right to make changes in the colours, dimensions, specifications, materials and design of products at any time and without prior notice. We also reserve the right to make such changes without the obligation of providing similar revisions/modifications to products which have been manufactured earlier.
Should you store or use your furniture near a beach or ocean then the salt air may cause corrosion in the metal, this is not a manufacturing issue and therefore not covered under warranty. Even galvanised or aluminium products will show signs of corrosion under the right conditions.
Should any metal products (Steel, Stainless Steel or Aluminium) be left outside you can expect some discoloured water to pool around them after rain. This is not a problem with the furniture and not a warranty issue; it is a normal reaction that metal has to being wet. The structural integrity of the chairs will remain stable and it is recommended that you wipe all access water from the furniture after any down pour. Should you consider this to be a problem we recommend you purchase from our polypropylene range of chairs to avoid this issue and an aluminium table base will reduce but not eradicate this problem.
Refunds and Credits
Unless the customer has inspected the goods and given written notice to us within two (2) business days of delivery that the goods do not comply with the relevant specifications or descriptions, the goods shall be deemed to have been accepted in good order and condition and no claim for credit, non-delivery, refund, exchange or repair of goods shall be accepted unless notification is made within two (2) days in writing to us.
In the event that we accept the return of goods for credit, the customer remains liable for the costs of re-delivering the goods to the warehouse and shall be liable to pay us such costs. If your item is faulty (this includes items damaged in transit), we are happy to refund the purchase price of the item less any freight costs incurred by us. Should you choose to receive a replacement, you will be required to send the item back to us and you are responsible for the cost of the freight for the replacement item.
In the event that we otherwise accept the return of goods for credit, refund or exchange, such credit will endure for a maximum of twelve (12) months from the date of first sale to the customer of the returned goods and any such return will be liable to a re-stocking fee being not less than 25% of the invoice value of the goods.

Products must be the same or similar quality
If you find any product cheaper in Australia then we will price match it on the proviso that it has to be either the same product or at the very least of a similar standard or workmanship.
Standard price and not special offer
Any competitor’s quote that we price match has to be their standard sale price and does not include any special offers or discounts that the retailer does.
Quote must be in writing
The competitor’s quote has to be presented in writing from them and in addition the quote can’t be older than 7 days.
